Dobby had bat-like ears and bulging green eyes the size of tennis balls. I had the great pleasure of meeting Dobby on one of my adventures into the Richardson Mountains. As I was down in the valley getting my drinking water from the lake, I noticed a hedge moving in the distance. At first I thought it was just a wild bunny, but I witnessed something strange. Why would a bunny be wearing clothing? My curiosity overtook my fear, so I started towards the hedge. As I came closer, I was able to make out what the creature could have been. I was mistaken as I pulled the branches to the side to make clear view of the creature. I jumped back, screamed in shock, and then realized what it was. An Elf! But why would an elf be in a valley in the of the Richardson Mountains?
"Hello there" I said in a cheerful tone. The elf looked startled out of its wit.
"Oh... ah, why hello" the said fearfully
"Who are you?" I said resisting the urge to ask "What are you?"
"Oh, I am Dobyy, a house elf, miss - I'm here in search of wishing flowers." Said the elf
I was curious and wondereed what were "wishing flowers", so I asked.
"Oh, they're found in this part of the world miss, and only this part indeed, Dobby has traveled a long way to look for such flower but is having a hard time recognizing which they would be."
Dobby held out two similar looking flowers in his hands, so I asked
"Why don't you wish on one to see if it comes true?" Dobby looked at me in amazement as if I had just said the most remarkable thing.
"Dobby can wish on one, miss?" He wailed with beaming smile
"Why not?" I answered. so Dobby wished on the sparkling flower and then blew
the cotton off of the ball and stem.
"What did you wish for Dobby?" I asked
"Oh, Dobby wished that you would have tea with Dobby and that you would tell Dobby your name." the elf said.
I figured that this wasn't what the elf had wished for, but that it was just his charming way of asking for a fresh cup of tea. So I gave in and offered Dobby some tea.
"My names is Danita" I said as I slurped my tea.
"Dobby must have got the flower right, miss, the tea was delicious" he explained in his jolly tone.
"So you really did wish to have tea with me?" I asked (continue reading)
