I'm at the halfway point in my pregnancy! At this point I can now get my anomaly scan where a sonographer will check to see if my baby is developing normally via ultrasound. I've tried to get an ultrasound appointment set up here in Yellowknife but that proved impossible. I will wait until I am back home where an appointment is just a simple phone call away. I have no doubt in my mind that my baby is growing normally. I wake up everyday feeling more and more pregnant. I'm getting so excited and anxious to find out whether I'm having a boy or a girl. The perks of having a girl. of course would be the amazing selection of baby clothes to choose from, the pretty colors, having a mini 'me', seeing her being daddy's little girl, having fun with hairstyles, and being able to teach her everything I know. The perks of having a boy would be having TWO men in my life to protect and love me, the simplicity of choosing outfits, having to be a bit more active to keep up with him, and I feel I would find so many similarities between my little boy and my dad :) Wouldn't that be something, considering a lot of your child's genetics come from your parents . . .
Regardless of the gender, I'd be just as thrilled with whatever outcome as long as my baby is developing normally and everything is well. At 20 weeks my baby should be measuring at 6 1/2 inches and should weigh about 10 ounces. Apparently there's a little banana just chilling in my tummy sucking amniotic fluid daily and developing taste buds. Sleeping has become a little more uncomfortable with the limitation of only being able to lay on my sides and needing a few extra pillows during the night. My energy levels are good and I am not experiencing unbearable heartburn and all of the expected symptoms at 20 weeks. I feel wonderful . . .
I've definitely grown since my 18 week post. I am now 4.5 months pregnant . . . At the moment, the baby is kicking away. I just placed my hand on my tummy and felt the kick! Let's hope that he/she's this active when his/her daddy gets home.
